MOTHERS IN TRANSITION

Connect with others & nurture yourself through the changes of early motherhood

A space to reflect & connect with the shifts, beginnings & Endings of early motherhood

“Becoming a mother leaves no woman as it found her. It unravels her and rebuilds her. It cracks her open, takes her to her edges. It’s both beautiful and brutal, often at the same time.”

THE GROUP COURSE

The group is a 12 session coaching space for mums with 1-4 year olds to reflect on their own experiences & hopes of this new experience of motherhood. Facilitated Sakina Ballard, the group is a beautiful blend of safe peer support, mindfulness, coaching tools, mindfulness and self reflective techniques, which are all designed to help you get centred through the shifts of this enormous transition.

Each week we will have a group call, where we get to listen and reflect together, as well as support each other to move forward. There will also be weekly mindfulness, reflective questions and a Whatsapp group to stay connected throughout the weeks.

Each week we will explore a different theme of transition including relationships, motherhood, bodies and much more.

Transitions can be uncomfortable, as we embrace endings and prepare for beginnings, the group is a space to tune into our individual experiences and needs, with the support of others, so next steps can feel contained and aligned to each individual participant.

MORE ABOUT THE GROUP

  • This is a coaching group for mums to work through the various psychological and emotional transitions of new mothering, also known as matresence.

You will receive reflection questions each week on a new topic that you can work through in your own time (about 30 minutes).

  • The group is designed to offer you space and tools to process the changes and have a chance to get intentional with the support of an experienced Perinatal coach. As well as coaching you are supported by other mums with similar goals. so you have the encouragement and support you need.

Over the weeks we will explore the main transitions we go through, bodies, minds, identities, relationships, time, money and more!

Please bear in mind, how you feel about speaking openly with your children nearby & if you are happy for any older age children to hear discussions.

  • If your mental wellbeing deteriorates during the weeks we are working together, we can have a discussion about how best to proceed and I can signpost you to services that may be better able to support. If you’re in crisis and need urgent help please call Samaritans 116 123.
